Kasur: The police here on Monday arrested a robber in injured during encounter in Kot Gama area under jurisdiction of City Police Station, Chunian.

The police spokesman said the culprit had been identified as Bilal, a resident of Ghosia Abad.

Bilal was wanted to police in various cases, he added.

A police team had been formed to arrest other his accomplices, the spokesman said.

Faisalabad: Nishatabad police claimed on Monday to have arrested two alleged dacoits and recovered looted yarn worth Rs 1.35 million from their possession. On a tip-off, the police conducted a raid and arrested two suspects identified as Abbas and Sarfraz aka Munni, and recovered 27 yarn bags loaded in a loader rickshaw. The accused looted the yarn few days ago from the area of Khurarianwala police station. Further investigation was underway.

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Police on Monday arrested three drug peddlers, three liquor suppliers and two other accused for illegal LPG decanting from different areas.

According to a police spokesman, the Morgah held three drug peddlers with more than 4.5 kilograms of hashish. The arrested accused included Ikram, Imran and Tariq.

Similarly, the Waris Khan Police arrested three liquor suppliers namely Zahid, Khalil-ur-Rehman and Hamza Omar, and recovered 18 litres of liquor from them.

Likewise, the R A Bazaar Police nabbed two accused for illegally decanting of Liquefied Petroleum Gas and seized gas cylinders and refilling equipment. The accused were identified as Tariq and Saqib.

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Population Welfare Department (PWD), District Peshawar held a monthly performance review meeting for Family Welfare Assistants on Monday.

Besides, Population Officer (PWO) Peshawar Sami Ullah Khan Khalil, Deputy District Population Officer Kashif Fida, Tehsil Supervisor Imranullah Khan, and all welfare centres' assistants attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the monthly performance of welfare centres was reviewed, and strategies were outlined for further improvement. An officer from the Population Welfare Department, Sami Ullah Khalil conducted a detailed evaluation of the

performance and targets of welfare centres.

He directed the staff to provide the best facilities and address shortcomings promptly.

Family Welfare Assistants were instructed to ensure regular attendance and perform their duties diligently.

Addressing the participants, Sami Ullah Khan Khalil stressed raising awareness about the importance of proper intervals between children. He further stated that the Primary goal of the Population Welfare Department is to promote public awareness about family planning and bring about positive behavioural change.

The officials urged the staff at welfare centres to take positive steps to promote family planning and ensure that government-provided facilities reach the public.

Additionally, male and female assistants were instructed to intensify awareness campaigns about dengue prevention. Residents in dengue-affected areas should be educated on precautionary measures to combat the disease effectively.

Faisalabad: Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has decided to develop a state-of-the-art Model Central Park on 84 Kanals area in FDA City.

Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry reviewed the project and said that this park would have salient features including a picturesque lake, Miyawaki forest and various recreational facilities designed to meet modern architectural standards, environmental needs and aesthetic appeal.

He issued necessary directions to improve design and development of the project and said that the park should be completed on urgent basis in addition to ensuring use of advanced scientific horticultural techniques for tree plantation.

He expressed satisfaction on the construction of jogging track and said that the park should be attractive to provide entertainment facilities for the children and adults equally.

He directed to plant diverse species of ornamental plants in addition to filling the flower beds with seasonal blooms.

He directed to install swings and other playing equipment for the children according to international standard and play equipment.

He also asked the project director to ensure regular monitoring of the project and provide its progress reports on daily basis for its speedy completion.

He also inspected other parks and green belts in various blocks of FDA City and directed to maintain a green and vibrant environment by protecting existing trees and plants in addition to planting more saplings.

He stressed the need of preparing an effective and comprehensive plan by keeping seasonal factors in view to further enhance greenery of the area.

Additional Director General FDA Yasir Ejaz Chattha, Chief Engineer Mehar Ayub, Project Director/Director Estate Management-II Sohail Maqsood Pannu, Deputy Director Engineering Talha Tabassum and others were also present on the occasion.
