Sargodha: An injured passer-by in the firing incident of Aziz Bhatti Town succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Friday.
Usman (25), a resident of Haydrabad Town Sargodha, was going to his workplace when he fell victim to firing between two rival groups near Aziz Bhatti Chowk in the jurisdiction of Jhal Chakian police station.
He was shifted to DHQ hospital in critical condition.
In the firing incident, four men were killed by their rivals over an old enmity.
Peshawar: The provincial secretary for Higher Education, Kamran Ahmed Afridi on Friday said that significant progress has been observed in the management of public sector universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, attributed to the task force formed under the vision of Chief Minister.
In a statement here, he highlighted the provincial government's historic achievement of allocating a record-breaking Rs 5.5 billion for universities within a single year.
He credited this milestone to the CM's generous, empathetic, and unwavering commitment to ensuring quality education in the province.
He said that the establishment of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Peshawar was acknowledged as a key pillar of the task force's objectives.
Afridi expressed optimism about ongoing policy initiatives aimed at achieving financial sustainability and autonomy for the universities of KP.
He also lauded the efforts of the CM Ali Amin and the Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi in driving these transformative changes.

Multan: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Multan Zone arrested three people involved in alleged human-trafficking and visa fraud cases, here on Friday.
According to an official, the arrested accused were identified as Khalil Ahmed, Muhammad Ramzan, and Muhammad Afzal. They were found guilty of defrauding citizens by promising overseas employment in exchange for large sums of money. He said that accused collected Rs. 250,000 from a citizen to send him to Saudi Arabia for employment, but failed to deliver and subsequently went into hiding. Director FIA Multan Zone said that intelligence-based operations were being conducted to dismantle networks involved in human-trafficking and visa fraud.
Kohat: A meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC) held on Friday with the Deputy Commissioner Abdul Akram Chitrali in the chair approved eight projects of projects of public welfare.
The projects included three for Agriculture, two for PCC Street, two for Livestock and one for Pressure Pump, Water Filtration Plant Sectors.
The meeting was attended by the authorities concerned of the relevant departments.
Deputy Commissioner Kohat strictly directed the authorities concerned to ensure the timely completion of these projects without compromising on the quality of work.
He further directed to ensure the provision of better services to the public and provide all possible relief and facilities to the people.
Muzaffargarh: An official team of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) got a retailer and a lady tout arrested on charge of making less payments to the beneficiaries at the payment centre in Layyah.
Assistant Director BISP Karor Lal Eisan Shahida Parveen visited a Benazir Kifalat payment centre at Fatehpur for inspection in response to public complaints. She found the complaints to be true where retailer was making payments to the beneficiaries that was Rs. 500 less than the actual amount.
She reported the matter to police and got a case registered against retailer Nauman Warraich and a lady tout. Both were arrested and further investigation was in progress.
