Rawalpindi: The Security Forces on Friday killed five khwarij terrorists including their ring leader Shafiullah@Shafi in an intelligence operation (IBO) in general area Maddi Dera Ismail Khan.

'During conduct of operation, our troops effectively engaged khwarij's location, resultantly, five khwarij including Kharji ring leader Shafiullah@Shafi, were sent to hell,' said a news release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as target killing of innocent civilians, it further said.

'Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,' the news release said.

Mirpur (ajk): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that his government has accorded top priority to Kashmiris' ongoing freedom movement, which he declared is in fact the movement for completion of Pakistan.

Talking to the journalist on Friday, the AJK premier said that there was no need to be apologetic or adopt a policy of appeasement towards jihad. "The basic concept of Jihad is all about your inherent right to defend yourself, your identity, or your country", the PM said.

"Every youth of Azad Kashmir should receive military training and be prepared for it", he remarked.

The PM said that this fundamental right was recognized by many human rights covenants including the international law.

"The international law gives us the right to protection/defense", he maintained.

"We have to formulate a policy keeping in view the overall situation in the region", he added.

Referring to India's traditional intransigence and hostile attitude, the PM Haq said, "We have to be vigilant against our eternal enemy that doesn't spare a moment in fomenting trouble in the region". Given the volatile situation in the region, he said that there was a dire need to adopt a comprehensive strategy to counter Indian propaganda.

"India is a big country but we must not forget how Israel, which is much smaller in size than its neighbors, was wreaking havoc in the Middle East", he said. Commenting on the worsening political and human rights situation in Indian held territory of Jammu and Kashmir, he said, "Indian forces are involved in the worst human rights violations in IIOJK".

He said that the Indian government's unilateral actions pose a serious threat to peace and stability in the region. In response to a question, he said that the Pakistan Army was making huge sacrifices to defend the territorial sovereignty of the state of Azad Kashmir.

"The people of Azad Jammu Kashmir and Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army", the PM said.

Multan: The inaugural session of International Conference on Physics Horizons and Multidisciplinary Sciences (ICPHMS-2025) commenced on Friday at Emerson University Multan, drawing distinguished scientists, researchers, and students from across from Pakistan to discuss groundbreaking advancements in physics and its multidisciplinary applications.

The event was formally inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Ghulam Ali, Director Air University Multan Campus.

In his keynote address, he highlighted the role of physics in expanding humanity's understanding of the universe and fostering technological progress. He called for increased collaboration among researchers, stating, 'Physics teaches us to think critically, embrace uncertainty, and persevere in the face of complexity. The two-day conference is designed to foster intellectual exchange and networking among researchers, scientists, and students. Activities include poster presentations, interactive sessions, and panel discussions, providing a platform for exploring innovative ideas and collaborating on cutting-edge research projects. As the first day concluded, participants expressed enthusiasm for engaging in meaningful dialogue and building partnerships to address global challenges. Rawalpindi: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) while conducting five operations across the country managed to recover 13.930 kg drugs worth over Rs 10 million and arrested six accused including two women, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman on Friday.

He informed that 6 kg hashish was recovered from a woman rounded up near a park on GT Road Rawalpindi.

5 kg heroin was recovered from a woman arrested near Chungi No. 26 in Islamabad.

1.5 kg ice was recovered from two accused held on M-1 Motorway Islamabad.

940 grams ice was recovered from an accused arrested near Sakhi Sarwar Road in Dera Ghazi Khan.

In fifth operation, 490 grams ice was recovered from an accused near a university in Multan.

Cases have been registered against the arrested accused under the Narcotics Control Act and further investigations are under process.

Laki marwat: Two persons were killed and three others sustained injuries in a firing incident that took place near Gundi Chowk area of Laki Marwat district, TV channels quoting police reported on Friday.

According to initial reports, a group of people opened fire during a Jirga that held near Gundi Chowk to settle land dispute between the two parties. As a result of firing, two persons died on the spot, while three others sustained injuries in the incident. The Police team rushed to the site and shifted the dead and injured to nearby hospital. Further investigations are underway.
