Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday paid tribute to police martyrs, saying the nation would always remember their sacrifices for protecting the country and its people.
In his message on Police Martyrs’ Day, Gilani said the courage, professionalism and sacrifices of police personnel in the fight against terrorism and crime were a matter of pride for the entire nation.
He said the sacrifices of police officers and personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and other parts of the country would always be remembered.
The chairman Senate also praised the courage and patience of the families of police martyrs, describing them as a national asset. He expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
He said a strong, modern and professional police force was essential for maintaining peace, ensuring justice and strengthening the rule of law in the country.
Gilani said Police Martyrs’ Day provided an opportunity to honour the services and sacrifices of brave police personnel who dedicated their lives to the nation.
He reaffirmed that the country would never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs and would continue to support their mission.
