Citizen receives appreciation certificate for protecting missing girl


Muzaffargarh: District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah awarded appreciation certificate to a citizen for protecting a missing 10-year-old girl and assisting the police in safely reuniting her with her family.



Police spokesman said on Friday, Saeed Ahmad, a resident of Basti Kachi Pakki, Sheher Sultan, found Sonia Bibi alone and took her home and kept her with his family to ensure her safety.



The DPO invited Saeed Ahmad to his office and appreciated his responsible and commendable conduct.



Police said that information regarding the disappearance of the girl from her home was received through the 15 emergency helpline, triggering search by Sheher Sultan police.



Meanwhile, Saeed Ahmad informed Rohillanwali police about the girl who was safely staying at his home with his wife and daughters.



Police immediately took the girl into protective custody and subsequently traced her parents through social media and other available human resources, before handing her over to them.



Police said, Saeed Ahmad demonstrated the qualities of a responsible citizen and did not let her fall into the wrong hands.



The girl’s parents expressed their gratitude to the police and prayed for the well-being of all those involved in the successful recovery of their daughter.



The DPO awarded appreciation certificate to SHO Sheher Sultan Sajid Fayyaz and citizen Saeed Ahmad.
