Lahore: Punjab Police have reported a 46 percent decline in commercial vehicle theft incidents in Lahore during the first eight months of the current year compared to the corresponding period of 2025.
According to police data, 329 cases of commercial vehicle theft were registered during the first eight months of 2026, compared with 610 cases during the same period last year.
In Model Town Division, the number of cases fell from 86 last year to 36 this year. Iqbal Town Division recorded 40 cases this year against 71 last year, while Saddar Division reported 80 cases compared with 132 during the corresponding period of 2025.
Similarly, 48 cases were registered in Civil Lines Division this year against 83 last year, while Cantt Division recorded 35 cases compared with 82 previously.
In City Division, 90 cases of commercial vehicle theft were reported during the first eight months of this year, compared with 156 cases during the same period last year.
Commercial vehicles include buses, trucks, passenger vans, rickshaws and loader vehicles.
