DC chairs meeting of DCC for National Action Plan


Hyderabad: Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani, chaired a meeting of District Coordination Committee for National Action Plan and implementation of the decisions of Apex Committee.



The meeting was held at Darbar Hall Tuesday. Meeting reviewed in detail the overall law and order situation in the district, ongoing measures under National Action Plan, coordination among law enforcement agencies and various sensitive matters.



Relevant officers briefed deputy commissioner on implementation of different points of the National Action Plan, security arrangements, monitoring of sensitive locations, prevention of suspicious activities and measures being taken to maintain peace and security in the district.



Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner said that maintaining law and order and protecting the lives and property of citizens are top priorities of district administration. He directed all concerned departments to ensure effective and timely implementation of the decisions of National Action Plan and Apex Committee.



Deputy Commissioner directed Municipal Corporation and all Town Officers to intensify anti-dog operations, anti-mosquito spray campaigns, drainage of stagnant/dirty water and cleanliness activities in their respective areas.



He stressed that all officers should perform their duties with honesty and responsibility to ensure the provision of essential municipal services to citizens.



DC also directed Secretary, District Regional Transport Authority, to conduct thorough checking of public transport vehicles and launch a crackdown against transporters charging fares above the prescribed rates.



Deputy Commissioner also directed officers of Food Control Authority to accelerate action against those involved in the preparation and sale of substandard food items. He directed HESCO authorities to further intensify ongoing operations against electricity theft. Similarly, the Traffic Police were directed to take action against violators of traffic laws and submit a report before the forum.



Deputy Commissioner also directed concerned officers to intensify action against illegal oil agencies operating in the district.



The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Saddam Hussain Memon, Deputy Mayor Chaudhry Mubashir Arain, District Manager PPHI Zakir Hussain Samo, District Manager Auqaf Ahmed Kamal, besides officers from Customs, Local Government, Municipal Corporation, Police, Health, Education, HESCO, Social Welfare, Assistant Commissioners of all tehsils, Town Officers, law enforcement agencies and other concerned departments.
