Peshawar: Deputy Commissioner Kurram Fahad Wazir has laid the foundation stone for a wildlife infrastructure project in Parachinar and directed officials to ensure quality construction and timely completion.
The deputy commissioner inspected the ongoing work at the Wildlife Division in Parachinar in the presence of Assistant Commissioner Upper Kurram Khalid Imran and Divisional Forest Officer Syed Ghayoor Hussain Shah.
He directed the contractor to expedite construction while maintaining the required standards and complying with relevant regulations.
Wazir also planted a pine sapling as part of efforts to promote afforestation and environmental protection.
Later, the deputy commissioner visited a historic underground bungalow in Alizai tehsil, reportedly associated with retired principal Nisar Hussain Gara.
The fortress-like structure is known for its distinctive architecture and is reportedly believed to have been constructed through manual labour and traditional techniques without the use of modern machinery.
Wazir inspected the structure and took interest in its architectural features. He directed officials to contact the Tourism Department to explore possibilities for its renovation and beautification and to promote the site as a potential tourist attraction.
