DC orders welfare measures for Edhi Homes residents


Multan: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Faisal Saleem has directed the district administration to take comprehensive measures for welfare, healthcare, nutrition and rehabilitation of elderly people, children and women residing at Edhi Homes Multan.



He issued the directions while presiding over a review meeting regarding the affairs of Edhi Homes. During the meeting, officials briefed the deputy commissioner on the facilities and welfare needs of the residents.



On his directives, a medical camp was also organised at Edhi Homes, where children residing there underwent medical examinations and a detailed assessment of their health was carried out.



Dr Faisal Saleem directed the relevant departments to ensure that the elderly, children and women at Edhi Homes were provided with healthcare, nutritious food and other essential facilities according to their needs.



He further directed that elderly residents and children requiring specialised care and rehabilitation should be referred to appropriate welfare and rehabilitation institutions so that they could receive better care and support in a suitable environment.



The deputy commissioner said all possible resources would be utilised for the education, healthcare, welfare and brighter future of children without family support.



He appreciated the welfare mission of Edhi Homes and assured that the district administration would extend its full cooperation and support to the institution in providing care and protection to its residents.



Dr Faisal Saleem emphasized that the welfare of vulnerable segments of society remained a key responsibility and directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination with Edhi Homes to ensure that its residents received dignified care and the facilities they needed.
