Bahawalpur: Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza visited the WASA Bahawalpur office to review administrative affairs, operational activities and the authority’s preparedness for the monsoon season, directing officials to ensure the efficient drainage of rainwater and maintain full operational readiness to deal with potential emergencies.
During the visit, WASA officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the Monsoon Emergency Plan, drainage arrangements, the availability of dewatering machinery, deployment of staff and measures taken to respond effectively to heavy rainfall and emergency situations.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza directed the concerned authorities to ensure the prompt and efficient removal of rainwater from urban areas during the monsoon season so that residents do not face inconvenience. He stressed that the drainage system should be monitored continuously and that all disposal stations, dewatering equipment and other operational resources must remain fully functional at all times. He instructed all WASA operational teams to remain on high alert around the clock, emphasizing that machinery, manpower and emergency resources should always be ready to respond swiftly and effectively to any unforeseen situation.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed officials to ensure the timely resolution of public complaints and instructed field teams to remain fully active in addressing civic issues without delay. He said providing quality municipal services to the people of Bahawalpur remains the district administration’s top priority and urged all relevant departments to work in close coordination to provide maximum relief to citizens throughout the monsoon season. Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur City Iqra Mubeen and WASA officials also accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.
