Dera ismail khan: Paharpur police have arrested several suspects allegedly involved in theft, drug possession and gambling during separate operations and recovered a stolen motorcycle, 521 grams of hashish and cash from their possession.
According police spokesman, the operations were carried out under the supervision of SP Paharpur Division Iqbal Khan Baloch, with DSP Paharpur Parvez Shah and SHO Paharpur Cadet Zafar Abbas leading the police actions.
In the first operation, police arrested Muhammad Sabih Asad, son of Muhammad Imran, a resident of Paharpur, in connection with an alleged theft case and recovered a stolen motorcycle from his possession.
In a separate operation, police arrested Shafqat Ali, son of Nazir Hussain, a resident of Shahdau, allegedly for involvement in a drug-related offence.
Police said 521 grams of hashish (charas) were recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile, police raided an alleged gambling gathering and arrested five suspects identified as Sanaullah, Muhammad Ashraf, Mulaim, Muhammad Umair and Shaukatullah.
Police said Rs27,500 allegedly being used as gambling stakes and a quail were recovered during the raid.
Cases have been registered against all the arrested suspects under relevant laws, and further legal proceedings are underway, according to the police spokesperson.
