Sukkur: Shikarpur Police have arrested a drug pusher and recovered 200 grams of hashish during an ongoing campaign against narcotics in the district.
According to a police spokesperson, the operation was carried out under the supervision of DSP Lakhi Ghulam Shah Muhammad Ali Soomro. Police from Lakhi Ghulam Shah Police Station, while conducting routine patrols, took action against a suspected drug dealer and arrested the accused, identified as Mashooq Ali Mahar.
Police said that 200 grams of hashish were recovered from his possession. A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
According to police, the arrested suspect is also being questioned about his alleged buyers, local drug dealers, associates and facilitators as part of efforts to trace the wider network involved in the supply and distribution of narcotics.
SSP Shikarpur Muhammad Kaleem said the police were continuing effective operations under a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and reiterated that action against those involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics would continue across the district.
