Dera police seize NCP items worth over Rs 2.6m

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The district police on Saturday claimed to have seized non custom paid (NCP) items worth over Rs 2.6 million during checking of several vehicles here on bypass road.

According to the Police spokesman, District Police Officer (DPO) Abdul Rauf Babar Qaisrani has directed the police force to take all possible steps to control all types of smuggling in Dera Ismail Khan.

Following these directions, a police team led by SDPO Saddar Circle Muhammad Saleem Balcoh acting on a tip-off inspected several vehicles.

During the checking, the police recovered 20 sacks of dry milk, four cartons of motorcycle chains, four tyres, one plastic role, two sacks of cloths, three cartons of car spare parts, two cartons of car lights, 28 cartons of candies, two cartons of cigarettes, two sacks of pistachio, two cartons shoes, five cartons cloths and others.

The estimated worth of the recovered goods was around Rs 2,656,000 which were later handed over to the customs authorities for further legal action.
