Hyderabad: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Faisal Bashir Memon, chaired a crime review meeting at DIGP SBA Range Office with participation from Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of all three districts of the range.
The meeting reviewed overall law and order situation and discussed measures to control crime and strengthen security arrangements.
Officials examined the current crime situation in the range, including investigation and detection of serious crimes, incidents of motorcycle theft and snatching, actions against criminal gangs and drug dealers, and measures regarding illegal foreign nationals.
A comprehensive review of security arrangements was also conducted. Special focus was given to motorcycle-related crimes. Police actions resulted in the arrest and elimination of groups involved in motorcycle theft and snatching, with significant recoveries made alongside the arrests.
The meeting also reviewed operations against drug dealers across the range. Authorities discussed actions against listed narcotics dealers, particularly those in A+ category, as well as cases related to drug supply in educational institutions and online narcotics activities.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to continue operations against drug networks without interruption. Action against illegal foreign nationals was also discussed, including verification of individuals facilitating their illegal stay and legal proceedings against them.
Regarding security situation, the meeting was informed that precautionary measures have been further enhanced. Intelligence sharing with law enforcement and intelligence agencies has been strengthened, while search and combing operations, snap checking, mobile patrolling, and surveillance have been made more effective.
Security arrangements have been tightened at railway tracks and stations, key installations, sensitive locations, national highways, and around residences and workplaces of Chinese nationals. Regular patrolling, deployment of Quick Response Force (QRF), security audits, route reconnaissance, and coordination with relevant institutions are being maintained.
The meeting emphasized that public safety, effective investigation, timely detection of crimes, elimination of criminal gangs, action against drug networks, and intelligence-based policing remain top operational priorities of the range.
DIG Faisal Bashir Memon urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or criminal elements to police promptly so that timely preventive and legal action can be ensured.
