Abbottabad: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Hazara, Nasir Mahmood Satti, on Thursday visited the Abbottabad Police Headquarters and directed officers to improve police welfare, strengthen discipline and enhance the performance of key departments in line with the vision of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed.
During the visit, the DIG inspected the police lines, barracks, offices, Investigation Wing, IT Branch and other sections. District Police Officer (DPO) Abbottabad Haroon Rashid Khan briefed him on the performance and functioning of various units at the headquarters.
Addressing officers and personnel, Nasir Mahmood Satti said further improvements should be introduced in important branches of the department to boost the morale of the police force. He also met police personnel, listened to their professional concerns and directed the relevant officers to resolve their issues on a priority basis.
He described police personnel as the department’s most valuable asset and stressed the need for practical measures to improve their welfare, including better residential facilities, healthcare, food and other basic amenities so they could perform their duties with greater commitment and professionalism.
The DIG also emphasized that discipline remained the cornerstone of an effective police force and instructed all personnel to strictly follow departmental rules, wear the prescribed uniform while on duty and maintain professional conduct to uphold the positive image of the police.
He further directed officials to ensure cleanliness in the police lines and adjoining offices, while warning that negligence, indiscipline and irresponsible behaviour would not be tolerated. He said strict departmental action would be taken against anyone found violating official rules and directives issued by senior officers.
