Dera ismail khan: Dera Ismail Khan Police on Thursday released its annual performance report for the year 2025, highlighting significant achievements against crime under the vision of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed and the directives of Regional Police Officer Dera, Syed Ashfaq Anwar.
According to a press release issued by the police spokesman, District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada, supervised extensive, indiscriminate operations against criminal elements across the district throughout the year.
The report stated that police conducted effective action in 441 cases related to theft, dacoity, robbery and house break-ins, resulting in the arrest of 642 accused persons.
During these operations, police recovered seven stolen cars, 128 motorcycles and cash amounting to Rs21.952 million from the possession of the accused.
In a major crackdown on illegal weapons, police registered cases against 707 individuals and arrested them for possession of unlawful arms and ammunition.
The recovered weapons included 59 Kalashnikovs, 99 guns, 54 rifles, 99 pistols, seven hand grenades, nine knives and 128,400 rounds of ammunition of various qualities .
The police also intensified operations against drug peddlers and smugglers. As a result, 916 cases were registered and 927 suspects were arrested. Police recovered 711 kilograms of hashish, 74 kilograms of heroin, 152 kilograms of ice (crystal meth), 900 grams of opium, 400 grams of Cannabis and 2,078 bottles of liquor during these operations.
The report further revealed that police registered 37 cases related to blind murders and successfully traced 107 suspects. Out of these, 81 accused have been sent to courts, where the legal process for awarding punishment is currently underway.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada said that Dera Ismail Khan Police remained committed to ensuring the protection of life and property of citizens and continued to work round the clock for maintaining law and order in the district. He urged the public to cooperate with the police to help eliminate miscreants and criminal elements from society.
