Multan: The district administration decided to further intensify anti-dengue campaign by constituting special teams for the elimination of dengue larvae on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Faisal Saleem.



The decision was made during a meeting attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rashid Iqbal and officers of the relevant departments, where the ongoing anti-dengue measures were reviewed in detail.



Deputy Commissioner Dr. Faisal Saleem directed the Health department to strengthen door-to-door surveillance, ensure continuous monitoring of dengue hotspots, and carry out timely destruction of mosquito larvae. He also directed all concerned departments to accelerate field operations to prevent the spread of dengue.



Dr. Saleem ordered the launch of a comprehensive campaign to educate citizens about cleanliness and preventive measures and masses should not stay stagnant water in homes, offices, or commercial premises, as it provides breeding grounds for dengue mosquitoes.



The Deputy Commissioner clarified that strict action would be taken against poor sanitation and violations of the Dengue Prevention Act without discrimination. He further announced that any commercial premises found with dengue larvae would be sealed immediately.



Dr. Faisal Saleem reaffirmed that no negligence would be tolerated in the anti-dengue drive, adding that all departments would work in close coordination to safeguard public health.
