MNA Dr. Mahreen Bhutto Visits Oncology Department at GIMS Gambat, Lauds Healthcare Facilities


Sukkur: Member of the National Assembly Dr. Mahreen Razaq Bhutto visited the Department of Oncology at the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Gambat Sunday and reviewed the medical facilities being provided to cancer patients.



Director GIMS Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti briefed the MNA about the functioning of the Oncology Department, available treatment facilities, state-of-the-art equipment, and patient care services.



On the occasion, Head of Department Oncology Dr. Syed Muhammad Sibtain Shah, Consultant Oncologist Dr. Muhammad Saleh Chandio, and Consultant Radiologist Dr. Hira Hanif Malik were also present. They briefed the MNA about the diagnosis, treatment protocols, chemotherapy, radiotherapy facilities, and the increasing number of patients visiting the department from across Sindh and other provinces.



The doctors informed that the Department of Oncology at GIMS Gambat is providing free and quality cancer treatment to patients, including advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services which were previously unavailable in the interior of Sindh.



MNA Dr. Mahreen Bhutto inspected various sections of the oncology ward, interacted with patients and inquired about the treatment facilities. She expressed satisfaction over the provision of free treatment and modern healthcare services under one roof.



Appreciating the efforts of the management, Dr. Mahreen Bhutto lauded the efforts of Director GIMS Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti and his team for transforming GIMS Gambat into a center of excellence for healthcare.



She said GIMS Gambat is a flagship health institution of Sindh, providing world-class treatment facilities to poor and deserving patients free of cost, and the Sindh Government’s support for the institution is commendable.



Director GIMS Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti thanked MNA Dr. Mahreen Bhutto for her visit and assured that the institution will continue to provide the best possible medical care to the people.
