Islamabad: PML-N Senator Dr Afnan Ullah Khan on Tuesday strongly condemned the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s statement, calling it irresponsible and hypocritical, and warned that such remarks not only undermine Pakistan’s foreign policy but also risk damaging the state’s national interests.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that demanding evidence against Afghanistan, whose soil has been misused by terrorists, effectively promotes the narrative of Pakistan’s enemies, adding that such remarks are highly inappropriate coming from the chief minister of a province and could damage national interests.
Responding to a query, he said that any protest announced by PTI is likely to end in failure, noting that even in Karachi, they were unable to hold a large public gathering.
He warned the KP chief minister not to cross this line, stating that PTI leaders will face strict consequences if they attempt to create anarchy in the country.
He emphasized that the federal government will not compromise on matters that threaten law and order and urged the CM and PTI supporters to exercise restraint when making statements that could harm national interests.
