Wah cantonment: A special court for the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) in Taxila has sentenced Abdul Hameed to 9 years in prison on Friday for smuggling 1.4kg of hashish.
According to police sources, Hameed was arrested by Wah Cantonment Police in August 2024 under section 9-C of the Control of Narcotics Substance Act 1997.
The judge announced the verdict after hearing arguments from defense and prosecution counsels, finding Hameed guilty of selling drugs.
He was also fined Rs 80,000. The public prosecutor argued that Hameed was caught red-handed and evidence linked him to the crime.
The prosecution emphasized the severity of the offense, stating Hameed didn’t deserve leniency. The court’s decision reflects the government’s stance on combating drug trafficking.
