Faisalabad receives 108mm rain, WASA clear roads from rainwater


Faisalabad: With effective management of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director Saqib Raza, the operation staff cleared the rainwater in the shortest possible time from all main roads and slum areas here on Friday.



According to data, a maximum rainfall of 108 mm was recorded in Ghulam Muhammad Abad area. 104 mm rain was recorded around Jail Road and Gulfishan colony, 102 mm rain in Allama Iqbal Colony and 101 mm rain was recorded in Gulistan Colony. Similarly, 98 mm rain was recorded in Dogar Basti and 81 mm in Madina Town area.



All the staff was present at their duty points on the rain prediction early this morning. It made all the machinery operational on time, due to which the drainage phase of rainwater was possible.



Meanwhile, MD Saqib Raza added that all the disposal stations were being operated with full capacity so that the citizens could be provided with the best facilities for the discharge of rainwater.



He clarified that despite 108mm rainfall, all main roads and main intersections were completely cleared of rainwater within one and a half hours.
