Karachi: On the directives of Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Asif Hyder Shah, successful negotiations regarding flour prices took place on Sunday at the office of Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi, between the Commissioner and flour mill owners. The mill owners announced an 8-rupee reduction in the ex-mill price, bringing it down from 133 rupees to 125 rupees. This decision will result in a reduction of wholesale and retail flour prices.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman Abdul Junaid and Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Flour Mills Association, Patron in chief Ch Muhammad Yousuf, other association members, flour mill owners, the Secretary of Food Ghulam Abbas, the Chairman of the Chief Minister’s Inspection and Inquiries Team Bilal Memon, and others. It was decided that the decision to reduce the price of flour would be implemented Forthwith. On this occasion, the Association announced that flour mill owners would also set up “fair price” stalls to provide flour to citizens at reduced rates.
