Peshawar: A four-member gang involved in a series of robberies was busted on Saturday by the Pishtakhara police, and Rs1.6 million in cash, alongside two motorbikes and two pistols, was recovered from their possession.
Speaking to media, SP Cantt Muhammad Junaid stated that investigating officers had achieved significant breakthroughs following comprehensive inquiries, which ultimately led to dismantling of a syndicate responsible for various criminal offences across city.
The apprehended suspects, identified as Waqar, Bilal, Ibrahim, and Gul Sher, had been implicated in numerous serious crimes, including armed robbery, highway mugging, snatching, motorcycle theft, general theft, and fraud.
Reports regarding these incidents had previously been submitted to Pishtakhara Police by affected citizens, prompting formal registration of cases and commencement of investigations.
By gathering crucial evidence using modern scientific and technical methods, police team successfully tracked down and detained the suspects, who have since confessed to their involvement in multiple offences during interrogation, while further investigations remain underway.
