Mirpurkhas: The Sindh government will distribute free pink scooties among female students and working women of Mirpurkhas Division on Saturday, September 26, as part of an initiative aimed at promoting women’s mobility, independence and access to education and employment.
The distribution ceremony, organized by the Sindh Mass Transit Authority and Transport Department, Government of Sindh, will be held at 1: 00 p.m. at Amara Banquet, Hyderabad Bypass Road, near Chuna Factory, Mirpurkhas, reported by reporter correspondent.
Sindh Senior Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon will be the chief guest, while Secretary Transport Asad Zamin and Managing Director Sindh Mass Transit Authority Behzad Aamir Memon will also attend the ceremony.
The free pink scooties are being provided to facilitate safe, dignified and relatively convenient transportation for women, enabling female students and working women to travel more easily to educational institutions and workplaces.
A large number of female students in Mirpurkhas travel daily to colleges, universities and other educational institutions, while women are also working in various government and private organizations, schools, hospitals, banks and other sectors. In the face of limited public transport, waiting times and rising travel expenses, having their own means of transportation can help make their daily commute easier.
For a student, a personal scooty can help ensure timely access to her educational institution and reduce transportation difficulties, while for a working woman it can facilitate more convenient and organized travel to and from her workplace.
Thus, the initiative is not limited to providing a means of transport but is also an effort to give women greater mobility and independence in pursuing education, employment and their daily needs.
