Karachi: The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) and the Department of Psychology at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pak International Hospital (PIH) to promote collaboration in mental health, joint research, clinical training, student internships, professional development and community-based services.
The MoU aims to strengthen collaboration between academia and the healthcare sector, promote research on emerging mental health challenges, provide students with practical and clinical exposure, and raise awareness about mental health issues at the community level.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Hina Mudassir, Director ORIC; Dr. Shahid Iqbal, Dean and In-charge, Abdul Haq Campus; Dr. Atiya Khatoon, Chairperson, Department of Psychology; and Dr. Sheeba Farhan, Research Manager ORIC and faculty member of the Department of Psychology. Representing Pak International Hospital were Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Afridi, TI, Medical Director; Mr. Rashid Khan Jadoon, General Manager Administration; and Ms. Rozeena Darbawala.
