Sukkur: Director of Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti, on Thursday inspected the newly established largest Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for the Medicine Department at GIMS and issued directives for its early operationalization.
During the visit, Dr. Bhatti was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Dogar and other senior faculty members. He reviewed the infrastructure, medical equipment, patient bed capacity, and workflow arrangements of the ICU.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti said that the establishment of this state-of-the-art ICU is a landmark project of the Government of Sindh aimed at strengthening critical care services at GIMS.
He emphasized that the facility will play a vital role in providing timely and advanced treatment to critically ill patients from across Sindh and the country.
‘This ICU will further enhance GIMS’s capacity to deliver world-class, free healthcare services to the people. Our priority is to ensure that every patient receives the best possible care with compassion and professionalism,’ the Director stated.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Dogar appreciated the visionary leadership of Dr. Bhatti and termed the new ICU a significant milestone in the development of tertiary care services at GIMS.
The new ICU is equipped with modern ventilators, cardiac monitors, and other life-support systems, and is expected to become fully functional in the coming days.
