Government respects Supreme Court verdict, will implement it in letter and spirit: Khel Das Kohistani

Islamabad: Minister of State for Religious Harmony Kheal Das Kohistani emphasized that government respected Supreme Court verdict and will implement it in true letter and spirit, stressing that judicial decisions should not be politicised.

Talking to the media outside Parliament House, on Tuesday he said, ‘These are decisions of the courts, and we respect them. ‘ He noted that political leaders had also received relief and justice from the same courts in the past.

‘We are not anyone’s personal enemies. They mocked our illness, but we pray for their recovery. We pray for the health of PTI founder Imran Khan and will not make fun of his illness, ‘ he said.

Kohistani clarified that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was not being offered any NRO, claiming that the party had been seeking one from the very beginning.

Responding to a question, he reiterated that the government would implement the Supreme Court’s decision and would not politicise the matter. He said the government would give a detailed response after the detailed judgment was issued.
