Govt departments directed to actively participate in Independence Day celebrations


Attock: Deputy Commissioner Attock Dr. Mudassir Ahmed Shah has directed all relevant government departments to complete arrangements for celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14 in a befitting manner, with national spirit and enthusiasm.



He expressed these views while chairing a meeting held to review preparations for Independence Day celebrations in the district. Officers of all concerned departments attended the meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Municipal Services) Anil Saeed gave a detailed briefing on the arrangements and preparations for the celebrations.



The meeting was informed that the main Independence Day ceremony would be held at 8:00 a. m. , with a large number of representatives of the district administration, government officials, elected representatives, civil society members, students and citizens expected to participate. The national flag would be hoisted during the ceremony, while special programmes would be organized to mark the occasion.



The meeting was further informed that government buildings across the district had been illuminated with decorative lights, while national flags and buntings would be displayed at prominent locations. Various government departments would also organize special events, seminars, national song programmes and other activities, which would continue until late at night.



The Deputy Commissioner directed all government departments to make special arrangements at their offices and relevant locations on August 14. He stressed that national flags and other decorative items should be displayed prominently and that discipline, cleanliness and other necessary arrangements must be ensured during all Independence Day events.



Dr. Mudassir Ahmed Shah said Independence Day was an occasion to renew the national commitment to the progress, prosperity, stability and development of Pakistan. He directed all government institutions to play their full role in the celebrations and encourage citizens to participate actively in the programmes.



The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to the people of Attock to participate in Independence Day celebrations in large numbers, hoist the national flag and express their love for the country. He said all available resources would be utilized to celebrate Independence Day in Attock with national spirit, enthusiasm and dignity.
