Lahore: Inspector General (IG) of Railways Police on Thursday expressed appreciation for the achievements of national and international boxer Malaika Zahid and awarded her a cash prize of Rs. 200,000.
The IG lauded the accomplishments of the Quetta-based female boxer, terming her success a source of pride for the country and an inspiration for young athletes.
Malaika Zahid is the daughter of Zahid Qayyum, a head constable serving in the Quetta Division of the Railways Police.
She has so far won six gold medals in national women’s boxing championships and a total of 24 medals in various tournaments at different levels.
