Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restrained authorities from harassing a petitioner and his family in a dispute over the transfer of 217 kanals and 12 marlas of inherited land in Islamabad’s Mohra Noor area, while summoning the deputy commissioner and the Shalimar police station SHO in their personal capacity.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan issued a two-page written order after hearing a petition filed through Advocate Ibad Abbasi.
According to the order, the petitioner alleged that he and his family were being harassed in an attempt to illegally transfer their inherited property. He requested the court to restrain the respondents from transferring the land and to initiate disciplinary proceedings against those responsible.
The petitioner further submitted that despite the court’s order dated Jan. 22, he and his family continued to face harassment.
Observing that the issues raised required judicial consideration, the court directed the Inspector General of Islamabad Police and other respondents to submit para-wise comments before the next hearing.
The court also summoned the Deputy Commissioner and Shafqat Faiz, SHO of Shalimar Police Station, to appear in person at the next hearing along with their para-wise comments.
Issuing notices to the respondents, the court ordered that the petitioner and his family should not be harassed and directed the registrar’s office to fix the case for further hearing.
