Kohat: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Irfan Tariq on Thursday formally assumed charge as Regional Police Officer (RPO) Kohat.
Upon his arrival at the Regional Police Office, he was accorded a warm welcome.
A smartly turned-out police contingent presented him a guard of honor.
District Police Officer (DPO), Kohat, Shehbaz Elahi along with other senior police officials were also present on the occasion.
The newly appointed RPO was widely recognized as a competent, honest, courageous, and dutiful police officer with extensive command over all aspects of policing, the official sources said.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Irfan Tariq reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring peace and security across all districts of the region, including the tribal areas.
He pledged to make every possible effort to curb crimes and maintain law and order in the region.
