Karachi: Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Azad Khan on Monday directed police officers to further improve the quality of investigations and bring the investigation system in line with modern requirements.
He issued the directives while chairing a meeting during his visit to the Police Training School, Garden, according to a Karachi Police spokesperson.
The meeting was attended by DIGP Administration, zonal DIGPs, DIGP CIA, district SSPs (Investigations) and other senior police officers.
The Principal of the Police Training School briefed the Karachi police chief on the overall performance of the institution, ongoing training programmes and specialised training being provided to investigation officers under the School of Investigation.
Azad Khan directed the officers to make the investigation system more effective and result-oriented by adopting modern methods and techniques.
He stressed the need to focus particularly on the professional training of investigation officers and ensure merit, transparency, professional standards and modern investigative practices in the investigation of criminal cases.
The Additional IGP Karachi said effective and high-quality investigation was fundamental to the delivery of justice, making continuous improvement of the investigation system, effective use of modern techniques and enhancement of investigators’ professional capabilities essential.
