Karachi: Karachi Police have finalised a comprehensive security plan for the week-long anti-polio campaign beginning on July 6, deploying 7,796 police personnel across the city to ensure the safety of vaccination teams and workers.
According to a Karachi Police spokesman on Monday, the security arrangements have been made on the directives of Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Azad Khan for the campaign, which will continue until July 12.
The spokesman said 2,679 police personnel have been deployed in the East Zone, 2,704 in the West Zone and 2,413 in the South Zone, including female police officers.
The Karachi police chief has directed all zonal officers to personally supervise the security arrangements to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the anti-polio campaign throughout the city.
