Quetta: Balochistan Minister for Communications and Works (CandW) Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa on Tuesday directed the concerned authorities to further accelerate the pace of work on federal projects and take vigorous steps to remove all obstacles hindering the timely completion of the projects for facilitating people in the province.
He said this while presiding over a meeting to review the progress of ongoing federal projects in the province.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Communications and Works Babar Khan, Chief Engineer Federal Projects Dr. Sajjad Baloch, project directors of various projects and other relevant officials.
During the meeting, Chief Engineer Federal Projects Dr. Sajjad Baloch gave a detailed briefing on the progress of all ongoing federal development projects in the province, the financial and technical difficulties being faced in the time frame for the completion of the projects and other related matters.
On this occasion, Secretary (CandW) Babar Khan said that the ongoing federal projects in the province are of utmost importance, the completion of which would significantly improve the infrastructure of the province and create a new momentum in the development process.
He said that the progress of these projects is being continuously reviewed by the Department of Communications and Works to ensure the timely completion of development projects.
Secretary CandW Babar Khan further said that financial or technical issues hindering the projects, all possible steps are being taken to resolve the issues on priority basis so that the development works are completed within the stipulated time and the people could get their fruits as soon as possible.
Addressing the meeting, Mir Saleem Khosa said that continuing the development projects and taking them towards completion despite adverse conditions is a commendable step.
The minister said that these projects are of utmost importance for the people of the province and their completion would not only improve the infrastructure but also significantly reduce the difficulties being faced by the people in terms of travel facilities.
He said that the federation has provided several important projects for Balochistan which would promote the economic and social development of the province.
Mir Saleem Khosa urged the concerned officers to utilize all their capabilities to ensure timely and quality completion of these projects and adopt effective strategies to implement development projects within the stipulated time frame.
He said that the government is taking serious steps for the development of the province and provision of better travel and basic facilities to the people, saying that the timely completion of federal projects would prove to be an important milestone in this regard.
