Quetta: Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Malakhail, has stressed that justice must not remain confined to courtrooms but should be upheld across every sphere of life. He said people approach courts not merely to seek justice but to end injustice, and if society collectively adheres to the principles of fairness, many of its problems would resolve automatically.
Addressing a flag-hoisting ceremony at the Balochistan High Court on 80th Independence Day, Justice Kamran Malakhail hoisted the national flag and congratulated the nation. The event was attended by judges, officers, court staff, representatives of bar associations, and other dignitaries.
The Chief Justice described August 14 as more than a historic day, calling it a renewal of ideology, commitment, and national responsibility. He reminded the gathering that Pakistan was achieved through the sacrifices, faith, and determination of the nation’s forefathers, and safeguarding its stability and prosperity is a col
lective duty.
He emphasized that justice is a comprehensive obligation, extending to parents, children, relatives, neighbors, and subordinates. ‘If siblings recognize each other’s rights in property matters, litigation would decrease significantly. Similarly, if officers treat their subordinates fairly, employees will perform their duties with greater dedication,’ he noted.
Justice Kamran Malakhail underscored that the judiciary’s foremost responsibility is to ensure impartial justice under the Constitution and law. He said district courts, as the frontline of the judiciary, bear the heavy responsibility of delivering justice without fear or favor. He urged lawyers, judges, and all stakeholders in the justice system to fulfill their duties with integrity, impartiality, and adherence to the law, adding that the supremacy of law and an independent judiciary are essential to protect citizens from oppression and exploitation.
Highlighting Pakistan’s strategic importance, he pointed to the China-Pakistan Econom
ic Corridor (CPEC) as evidence of the country’s global relevance. He recalled that the Silk Road has connected the region to world civilizations for nearly five thousand years, asserting that negative propaganda cannot diminish Pakistan’s inherent geopolitical significance.
Justice Kamran Malakhail called upon the nation to take practical steps for self-improvement and reflect on the kind of country and society being built for future generations. He reaffirmed the judiciary’s commitment to upholding the Constitution, ensuring equal justice, and protecting fundamental rights.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s security, stability, prosperity, and national unity, with participants renewing their pledge to uphold the rule of law and strengthen justice across the nation.
