KP Energy Deptt orders prompt resolution of public grievances

District

Peshawar:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Energy and Power Secretary Nisar Ahmad has directed officials to take immediate steps to resolve public grievances and ensure timely completion of ongoing energy projects. He issued the directives while chairing the seventh live e-Khuli Kachehri organised by the Energy and Power Department under the provincial government’s Good Governance Road Map.

The session provided an opportunity to residents of different districts to directly raise their concerns with senior officials. A total of 52 complainants participated through telephone calls and the department’s official Facebook page and highlighted issues relating to energy projects and services.

Senior officials of the department, along with heads and project directors of the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO), KP Oil and Gas Company, Electric Inspectorate and KP Transmission and Grid System Company, attended the session.

The secretary took note of complaints regarding delays and alleged substandard construction of some mini and micro-hydel projects and directed the relevant authorities to address the issues without delay.

He said officials would be held accountable for negligence in resolving public complaints and directed project authorities to complete development schemes within the prescribed timelines.

Nisar Ahmad said the direct interaction with citizens was helping bridge the gap between government institutions and the public. He directed all officers to give priority to complaints raised through the e-Khuli Kachehri and ensure their timely resolution.
