Hyderabad: District police have demonstrated outstanding performance, under the leadership of SSP Shaheed Benazirabad Sameer Noor Channa.
According to a detailed report released for the month of June, the police recovered narcotics, illegal weapons, and gutka worth millions of rupees and arrested 101 absconding suspects. Following special directives and supervision of SSP Sameer Noor Channa, a comprehensive and organized crackdown was carried out across the district against criminals, drug dealers, street offenders, and elements disturbing law and order.
During June, the district police achieved significant success by implementing a zero-tolerance policy against crime. The detailed performance report was issued by police spokesperson. According to report, during operations against illegal weapons, a total of 23 cases were registered and 23 suspects were arrested across the district.
The police recovered one Kalashnikov, 20 pistols, two shotguns, 80 rounds of ammunition, and three cartridges, thereby preventing serious criminal activities. Similarly, in the campaign against narcotics to protect younger generation, police registered 24 cases and arrested 24 drug dealers.
The recovered narcotics included 19 kilograms and 135 grams of charas, 180 liters of liquor and 99 pints, 32 kilograms and 100 grams of bhang, and 3 kilograms and 268 grams of hazardous chemical drug ice (ICE), all valued at millions of rupees. To maintain law and order, seven high-profile encounters took place between police and criminals, resulting in the registration of seven cases. During these encounters, one highly wanted and hardened criminal was killed, while six others were arrested in injured condition and brought before the law.
Furthermore, strict action was taken against the gutka and mawa mafia, which pose a serious threat to public health. In this regard, 44 cases were registered and 54 suspects were arrested. A total of 203 kilograms and 164 grams of banned Z-21 gutka was recovered from their possession. Police also intensified efforts against absconders and fugitives. As a result of successful raids, 101 absconding suspects wanted in various cases were arrested.
Additionally, under Section 550 of the Criminal Procedure Code, three suspicious motorcycles were taken into custody. SSP Sameer Noor Channa appreciated the efforts and bravery of all SDPOs, SHOs, and CIA teams on this remarkable performance.
He said that ensuring the protection of life and property of citizens and maintaining peace remain top priorities of district police. He further emphasized that the campaign against drug trafficking, gutka and mawa trade, and street crime would be intensified, and no negligence would be tolerated. He also announced commendation certificates and cash rewards for officers and personnel showing outstanding performance.
