Larkana: Larkana Police, continuing operations against criminal elements and drug peddlers under the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Larkana Azhar Khan (PSP), arrested a proclaimed offender and two suspected drug peddlers in separate operations on Friday and recovered drugs.
According to SSP Larkana, the news circulating on social media about police officer Bahram Katohar being injured does not relate to Larkana district. He further said that the incident occurred in Teepal, within the limits of Dera Murad Jamali district in Balochistan, while on social media it was attributed to village Wada Bosan, Larkana district, which is not based on facts.
He told that the injured officer’s treatment is ongoing at the Trauma Centre in Larkana. SSP Larkana Azhar Khan has issued instructions to the welfare in-charge to remain present at the Trauma Centre and provide all possible assistance in order to take special care of the injured police constable’s treatment. Police have clarified that no incident of this nature occurred within the limits of Larkana district.
On the other hand, Larkana Police, while conducting an operation at Pir Sher Bypass in the jurisdiction of Aqil Police Station, arrested proclaimed offender Habib Jatoi, who was wanted in a murder case.The arrested suspect had been declared a proclaimed offender since 2024 in the case of his brother’s murder. Police have started further legal and procedural actions, including checking the suspect’s criminal record.
Meanwhile, under SSP Larkana Azhar Khan’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs, Ratodero Police also conducted an operation, arresting two drug peddler suspects and recovering a large quantity of drugs.
SSP Larkana said that during an operation in the stadium area within the jurisdiction of Ratodero Police Station, suspect Shamsuddin Aarbani was arrested with more than one kilogram of charas and 55 packets of ice, while in another operation, suspect Shafi Muhammad Kalhoro Qazi was arrested with more than one kilogram of charas and 45 packets of heroin.
He said both arrested suspects were allegedly involved in drug supply. Interrogation of the arrested drug suppliers regarding buyers, local dealers, and Afacilitators is ongoing, while the suspects’ previous criminal records are also being checked.
He said more that operations to eliminate drugs and against criminal elements will be further intensified, while further action against the arrested suspects is being taken in accordance with the law.
