Hyderabad: On the special directives of Vice Chancellor of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro Prof. Dr. Ikram Din Ujjan, a two-day free medical camp was organized at LUMHS health services hospital, Jamshoro.
According to the LUMHS spokesperson on Thursday, the camp provided free consultation and treatment for patients suffering from vascular diseases, diabetes, kidney disorders and diabetes-related foot complications. Free duplex ultrasound examinations were also conducted to facilitate early diagnosis.
Inaugurating the camp, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ikram Din Ujjan said that LUMHS was committed to providing quality and modern healthcare services to the public. He said that ensuring the best possible treatment for patients from Jamshoro, across Sindh and other parts of the country remained the university’s top priority, adding that such free medical camps were particularly beneficial for underprivileged and deserving patients.
He said the establishment of the department of vascular surgery under the leadership of Dr. Muhammad Kamran marked a significant milestone for LUMHS. Besides offering advanced treatment for vascular diseases, the department would also contribute to the training of young doctors and promote medical research.
During the two-day camp, specialist doctors examined and treated around 300 patients, while 50 patients underwent free duplex ultrasound scans to enable timely diagnosis of vascular conditions.
The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of doctors, faculty members, nurses, paramedical staff and the hospital administration, emphasizing that early diagnosis, preventive healthcare and improved access to medical services were essential for building a healthy society.
He reaffirmed that LUMHS would continue to organize such free medical camps to extend quality healthcare services to a larger number of people.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Principal Bilawal Medical College Prof. Dr. Ashraf Khaskheli, Director LUMHS health services hospital Prof. Dr. Rasool Bux Behan, Prof. Dr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Prof. Ghulam Qadir Buledi, faculty members, doctors, medical experts and administrative officials.
