Lahore: Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) Chief Executive Officer Shehryar Arif Khan conducted a surprise inspection visit to Union Council 76 in Samanabad on Tuesday to review field operations under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Suthra Punjab” initiative.
During the visit, the CEO evaluated the overall cleanliness situation, worker attendance and door-to-door waste collection operations in the area.
Taking strict notice of poor sanitation arrangements and worker absenteeism, Shehryar Arif Khan reprimanded the site staff and suspended the relevant town manager and supervisor for ineffective monitoring and dereliction of duty.
The CEO directed field officers to ensure 100 percent door-to-door waste collection across the provincial capital and ordered the complete clearance of waste from all commercial markets early in the morning. He further instructed supervisory staff to remain present in the field to monitor operations and guarantee full attendance of the sanitary workforce.
Reaffirming that no compromise would be made on hygiene standards, the CEO Shehryar stated that all available resources were being deployed to maintain a clean and healthy environment for residents. He also encouraged citizens to register sanitation-related grievances via the Suthra Punjab helpline 1139 or through official social media platforms.
