Minister Zeeshan Rafique announces food streets for Daska

District


Sialkot Punjab Provincial Minister for Local Government Mian Zeeshan Rafique has announced that a food street will be established in Daska to provide citizens with better recreational and commercial facilities, and a separate food street exclusively for women will also be constructed.



He expressed these views while addressing a meeting to review development projects in Daska at the Municipal Committee office. Assistant Commissioner Daska, Sadia Jaffar, and Chief Officer of the Municipal Committee Daska, Yasir Gilani, were also present at the meeting.



The Provincial Minister directed that the pace of work on ongoing sewerage projects under the Punjab Development Program be further accelerated, emphasizing the need to ensure the timely completion of projects serving the public interest.



He instructed that quality standards be strictly maintained in the construction of roads and streets, warning that those responsible for substandard work would be held accountable.



Punjab Minister Mian Zeeshan Rafique has directed the authorities to undertake extensive tree plantation along Daska’s main road and other important roads. He emphasized that maximum trees should be planted to enhance the beauty of the city as well as improve the environment.



Issuing instructions to further improve the performance and cleanliness standards of the ‘Suthra Punjab’ initiative, he directed field monitors not to limit themselves to merely imposing penalties but to ensure on-the-spot resolution of issues. Providing a clean environment to citizens must be the top priority.



The Provincial Minister directed that the oversight of development projects be made effective and that relevant officers regularly monitor the quality, pace, and completion of these projects. He emphasized ensuring the efficient use of public resources and the timely provision of relief to the public.



A detailed review of Daska’s development projects including sewerage, the construction of roads and streets, tree plantation, city beautification, and sanitation systems was conducted during the meeting, while relevant officials briefed the provincial minister on the progress of ongoing projects.
