Dera ghazi khan: Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry expressed serious displeasure over substandard construction work at the Model Village Project in Basti Rekhra near Aali Wala in the district on Thursday.
Commissioner was visiting the project site where he inspected the ongoing development works in detail. Director development Anam Hafeez, deputy director Ameer Muslim and other relevant officers accompanied him.
Commissioner checked the construction of the sewerage system, drains, roads and other infrastructure under execution at the project site with special focus on quality of construction material and pace of work.
Upon finding defects in some of the work, commissioner expressed strong displeasure and reprimanded the officials concerned.
He directed them not to tolerate substandard material or poor-quality construction.
Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry ordered that all works be completed strictly according to the approved designs and prescribed standards, while ensuring effective and continuous monitoring of the project.
He said the Model Village project was an important welfare and development initiative of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aimed at providing basic facilities to rural communities and improving their quality of life. He stressed that negligence or dereliction of duty in such an important project would not be tolerated.
