Rawalpindi: Acting on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhaira, Rawalpindi Police have intensified its
anti-narcotics campaign by arresting five alleged drug suppliers and recovered more than eight kilograms of hashish in separate operations.
According to police spokesperson, Civil Lines Police arrested a drug supplier and recovered 1.9 kg of hashish while Ratta Amral Police seized 1.6 kg of the drug from another supplier. Taxila Police also arrested a drug supplier and recovered 1.6 kilo gram (kg) hashish.
In separate operation, Rawat Police recovered 1.5 kg of hashish from a suspect, while RA Bazaar Police arrested another individual and seized 1.4 kg of hashish.
Police said separate cases have been registered against the arrested suspects, and further investigations were underway.
A police spokesperson said all possible measures were being taken to eliminate the menace of narcotics and bring drug traffickers to justice.
