Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage and Culture Attaullah Tarar said on Saturday that the University of London has been playing an important role in Pakistan’s education system.

Addressing the alumni of the University of London here, the minister remarked that the university played an important role in raising the standard of legal education in Pakistan.

He said that meeting the alumni of the University of London was a source of joy for him as he had started his career as a tutor at that university.

Appreciating the University of London for its invaluable partnership with Pakistan, the minister remarked that graduates from the university were today making outstanding contributions in important sectors of the country.

They have a key role in the development of Pakistan and the field of law, he opined.

The minister said the alumni network of the University of London has been continuously developing for the past several decades expressing hope that it will continue to develop in the future as well.

He said that the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the great thinker and philosopher poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal got their education from the great educational institution of England Lincoln’s Inn.

Both of these great personalities played an important role in the establishment of Pakistan and shaping its future through their legal expertise and political insight, he stated.

The federal minister for information paid tributes to Dr. Khadija, CEO of Roots School System, for her outstanding services in the field of education.

He said it was encouraging to see women leaders coming forward as in our society they had to face difficulties from the beginning of life.

“It is a good sign to see the increase in the number of female graduates of the University of London,” he said.

The minister appreciated the educational system of the University of London, which provided the best learning experience for its students to succeed in the professional field.

Tarar paid tributes to all the great professors and teachers of the University of London.

Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has praised Pakistan’s security forces for their successful operation against Khawarji terrorists in the Bagh area of Khyber District.

The operation resulted in the elimination of four terrorists, thwarting their nefarious plans.

Interior Minister commended the security forces for their timely and effective response, saying that they have once again demonstrated their professionalism and bravery.

He expressed appreciation for the security forces’ efforts in foiling the terrorists’ plans, stating that the nation stands united with them in the fight against terrorism.

Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the country is united against Khawarji terrorists and stands firmly with the security forces.

He noted that the nation takes pride in the security forces’ professionalism and courage.

Islamabad: The first female judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice Ayesha Malik has urged Pakistani graduates of foreign universities to enrich themselves with knowledge and empower those who were not fortunate to receive the quality education and international perspective like them.

She was addressing the Pakistani Alumni of the University of London here on Saturday.

‘With this privileged education comes a very big responsibility’, she said. ‘It is not only a personal achievement, but an investment in the progress of humanity and the progress of our country’ she said.

Justice Ayesha Malik added that all individuals must contribute meaningfully to their community. Someone who works regularly with the law, let me say, that a nation’s strength lies in animated people who understand and respect the law and engage in the democratic process. More importantly, they have a role to play in recognizing the power of unity, collaboration and impacting and uplifting others.

Addressing the Alumni she said that you are the privileged ones this burden falls on many of you. As you step into the next phase of your life, your contribution will be to enrich society with your knowledge and diverse perspectives and international experiences. You carry the responsibility and the privilege of shaping a better future not just for yourselves but for all of us.

‘Working and advocating for justice, the journey ahead is yours to define. Make it with integrity, passion and legacy that reflects the excellence of the programme you studied at the University of London. The future is yours to shape. Make it something extraordinary,’ she said.

I believe that it is people like you who will bring change and progress here and most of you will enable and empower others who are not fortunate to receive the quality education that you have gotten.

She appreciated the presence of female alumni in the conference room and said that their success stories would inspire many.

‘My own experience of interaction with the law graduates of the University of London, I have no doubt in saying that they will be future leaders and change-makers,’ she concluded.
