Dera ismail khan: District police have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the murder of a young man in the limits of Cantt police station, a week after the crime, and recovered the suspected murder weapon.
According to police spokesman, Muhammad Ahmed was killed by unidentified assailants under the cover of darkness last week. The attackers fled the scene after the shooting.
Following the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Dera constituted a special investigation team to trace the killers. Using modern scientific and technical methods, the team identified and arrested the two suspects within a week of the murder, police said.
The arrested suspects were identified as Hanan son of Hafiz Irfan, a resident of Quddoosabad, and Hamza son of Akbar Ali, a resident of Lakki Marwat, currently residing in Zafarabad Colony. Police also recovered a nine mm pistol along with five rounds of ammunition from the suspects.
District Police Officer Dera commended Cantt Station House Office, Abdul Ghaffar Khan and his team for tracing and arresting the suspects within a week. He said no one was above the law and that strict action would be taken against those involved in criminal activities.
