DC Battagram initiates action on unserviceable government vehicles

Battagram: Deputy Commissioner Battagram, Asif Ali Khan, in compliance with provincial government directives, inspected old and unserviceable government vehicles at various offices. Accompanied by District Nazir Battagram, Tehsildar Battagram, and Tehsildar SDC, the inspection aimed to identify unused assets and optimize resource management.

During the visit, DC Asif Ali Khan directed departmental heads to compile a comprehensive list of all non-operational vehicles and submit it to the DC office and provincial authorities. He emphasized that these vehicles will either be repaired for reuse or auctioned after completing the necessary legal processes.

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that the initiative aligns with the government's efforts to ensure efficient utilization of resources and minimize unnecessary expenses. He noted that proper management of these vehicles would redirect government funds towards public welfare projects, enhancing overall resource effectiveness.

SIFC discusses stakeholders’ role in promoting export-investment under ‘Uraan Pakistan’ program

Islamabad: The Executive Committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) on Tuesday reviewed and discussed the role of various stakeholders in promoting export-based investment under the 'Uraan Pakistan' program.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal briefed the committee and provided insights into the key features of the plan and the collaborative efforts required from stakeholders, a news release

said.

The committee resolved to formulate an effective strategy to implement 'Uraan Pakistan'-the homegrown National Economic Plan (2024-29), which aims to achieve a trillion-dollar economy by 2035.

The SIFC stressed the need to reap the benefits of the program through the 'Whole of the Nation' forum.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar presented a media strategy to support and effectively project the 'Uraan Pakistan' program.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) briefed the committee on the progress of international advisory assistance and ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment.

The SIFC directed that ongoing efforts be accelerated and progress on investment projects be provided, with an emphasis on focusing on investment-worthy projects and fulfilling commitments made with friendly countries.

The government is fully committed to putting the country's economy on the path of development through the facilitation provided by the SIFC.

DC Abbottabad chairs meeting on interfaith harmony

Abbottabad: Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Sanaullah Khan Tuesday presided a meeting on interfaith harmony at the DC office conference room.

The session brought together religious scholars, minority representatives, and district officials.

The DC stressed the state's responsibility to ensure equal rights for all citizens, regardless of religion or sect, and highlighted the importance of harmony, tolerance, and mutual respect for societal progress. Participants pledged cooperation to promote peace and brotherhood.

ADC General Muhammad Usman Ashraf, ADC Relief Amanullah Saeed, Chairman of the District Reconciliation Committee Lt. Gen. (R) Ayaz Saleem Rana, AC Abbottabad Zarak Yar Khan Toru, SSP Havelian Ishtiaq Khan, and other officials participated in the meeting.

The district administration assured that similar meetings will continue to foster unity, equality, and the protection of citizens' rights.

Role of C&W Dept is essential in development of Balochistan: Saleem

Quetta: Balochistan Minister for Communications and Works Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa on Tuesday said that the role of the Communications and Works (C and W) Department is the backbone in the development and prosperity of the province. While talking to the officers of the C and W Department, the minister said that there is a need to further improve the performance of the Communications and Works Department. He said that in this regard, all the technical issues of the department are being resolved on a priority basis so that the obstacles in the completion of development projects are removed. He said that no kind of negligence would be tolerated in the standards of the ongoing development projects in the province. In this regard, he will also monitor the development projects himself and all the officers have also ensured that the ongoing schemes are monitored, he said. The minister said that the development and prosperity of the province, the improvement of infrastructure and the provision of modern facilities to the people of the province, whether in the roads sector or the building sector are the responsibility of the Communications and Works Department. He said that it should be our goal to fulfill this responsibility in an efficient manner.

Somalian Federal Education Minister, Ambassador visit IIUI

Islamabad: His Excellency, Minister of Education, Culture, and Higher Education of Somalia, Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, an alumnus of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), alongwith Somali Ambassador H.E. Sheikh Noor Mohamed Hassan visited the university.

Minister Abdulkadir toured the Faculty of Shariah and Law, where he once studied.

He met with the faculty there and shared his old memories. In the management block auditorium, he met with Somali students to encourage them in their academic pursuits.

Meanwhile, he also held a meeting with the IIUI President, discussing avenues for collaboration in education and research.

The delegation emphasized the historic ties between Somalia and IIUI, underscoring the university's role in building global academic connections.

IIUI President said, "Somali students have great potential, and IIUI's doors will always be open to welcoming more students from Somalia."
