Talagang: Parliamentary Secretary for Excise and Taxation and MPA Malik Shehryar Awan, along with MPA Malik Falak Sher Awan, visited the Safe City Project office in Talagang and received a detailed briefing on the progress and future roadmap of the project.
During the visit, SDPO Talagang Circle Abdul Aziz Malik and Safe City Project Manager Muhammad Mudassar briefed the parliamentarians on the installation of surveillance cameras, the functioning of the control room, the monitoring system and the current status of the project.
Malik Shehryar Awan said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif considers the Safe City Project a key initiative. He said the Punjab government is committed to using modern technology to provide citizens with a safer environment.
The project, he added, would play an important role in preventing crime, improving traffic management and enabling a rapid police response.
According to the Safe City administration, modern surveillance cameras have been installed at major intersections, entry and exit points, and other sensitive locations across Talagang.
These cameras are being monitored 24/7 from the control room, providing police with immediate assistance in responding to crimes and emergencies.
The officials further briefed the parliamentarians that an e-challan system will soon be activated through the cameras. Traffic violators, particularly motorcyclists riding without helmets and drivers failing to wear seat belts, will be issued e-challans that will be sent to their registered addresses.
Malik Shehryar Awan said that protecting the lives and property of the people of Talagang remains a top priority, adding that the Safe City Project would be an important milestone in achieving this objective.
Both MPAs appreciated the performance of the project team and assured them of their full cooperation for the timely completion and effective functioning of the project.
