Mirpur: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Iftikhar Gilani on Monday paid his maiden visit to Bhimber city on the invitation of AJK Legislative Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Tariq Farooq and received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from local residents and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers.
Speaker Chaudhry Tariq Farooq and members of the AJK Legislative Assembly were present on the occasion. The prime minister was received by party workers, local residents and supporters at various points of his route, who raised slogans and showered flower petals on his vehicle.
Earlier, PML-N workers and residents greeted Prime Minister Gilani at the Jatlan entry point, Dheri Watan and Bab-e-Kashmir Bridge, expressing their enthusiasm over his visit to the city.
Prime Minister Gilani thanked the party workers, office-bearers and people of Bhimber for the warm reception and expressed appreciation for their enthusiasm. He was accompanied by members of his cabinet, former minister Mushtaq Minhas and other party and government representatives.
