Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday conferred Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon Commander Strategic Command, General Syed Aamer Raza during an investiture ceremony held here at the Presidency.
The event commenced with the national anthem played by a solemn military band, where the President was flanked by Prime Minister, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The event was also graced by the presence of the members of the diplomatic corps and tri services chiefs including Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal, Syed Asim Munir.
Federal Ministers including Muhammad Aurangzeb, Attaullah Tarar, Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary, Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Speaker Punjab Assembly, Malik Mohammad Ahmad Khan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, and Chairman Senate, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, among others, were also present.
