Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Department held an E-Khuli Kachehri to address public queries regarding various housing schemes.
The E-Khuli Kachehri was chaired by the Secretary Housing Muhammad Anwar Khan. Those who attended were included Director General (DG) Housing Muhammad Zahid Khan, the Additional Secretary Housing, and other senior officials of the department.
Representatives of the general public and government employees participated via social media, phone calls, and text messages, raising a range of questions and concerns about ongoing housing projects. Citizens sought details on the allotment of government plots, the completion status of the Peshawar Valley project, and progress on the Jalozai, Jarma, Malazai, and Hangu housing schemes, among other initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Anwar Khan said the primary purpose of holding the E-Khuli Kachehri was to ensure the prompt resolution of public grievances.
He described the Peshawar Valley Housing Project as a flagship initiative of the province, stressing that the provincial government remained committed to its completion and that serious, practical steps were being taken in this regard.
Regarding the Malazai Housing Scheme, the secretary said work was progressing rapidly and urged local residents to take keen interest in the project, assuring them of the department’s continued cooperation. He added that street lighting and security arrangements in the Malazai scheme would be provided on a priority basis.
Responding to a question about the allotment of plots to government employees, Anwar Khan said the appointment of a Managing Director for the Pakhtunkhwa Housing Authority would be made very soon.
He stated that employees with less than five years remaining before retirement would be given plots without balloting, while around 2,000 plots would be allotted to other government employees in 2026 through balloting on a seniority basis.
Director General Housing Muhammad Zahid Khan appealed to the public to keep their information updated on the Dastak App in order to receive timely updates on facilities and progress related to plot allotment and other departmental matters.
Referring to an earlier announcement by Provincial Minister for Housing Dr. Amjad Ali, the secretary said that in every housing scheme, allottees who are the first to construct homes would be provided free solar systems.
On a question concerning the Jalozai Housing Scheme, Secretary Anwar Khan clarified that the matter would be handled in accordance with the Supreme Court’s decision on the project.
